What are you looking at … ?

Sophia Ruvola is a fourth-year illustration student at Parsons School of Design. She embraces a simple visual aesthetic and often explores themes of nostalgia and dreams through her character-focused pieces. She loves making comics and is inspired by risograph printing.

Sophia’s piece, entitled “Mismatched Shadow,” was inspired by the memory of seeing unusual shadows in the twilight from Halloween costumes, decorations, and all things spooky.

The theme for October 2025 was ‘Haunted.’
