Albert Lee, British guitar virtuoso who played with rock greats, Returns to New York City

Albert Lee, pictured here performing in Germany, is known for his lightning fast fingers, and virtuosic approach at country guitar.

Legendary country guitarist Albert Lee is set to make his return to NYC at City Winery on Tuesday, Jan. 18, with a setlist that includes country and rock ‘n’ roll staples by the likes of Ray Charles, Fats Domino and The Everly Brothers, the latter of whom he frequently collaborated with. This marks Lee’s first area appearance since 2017.

A respected artist in his own right, Lee has shared stages with acts such as Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris & The Hot Band, and Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings. His lightning fast fingers and unique approach at hybrid and fingerpicking have made Lee a mainstay in the world of guitar and country.

Albert Lee has been nominated for 5 Grammy Awards and won “Best Country Performance” in 2004 and 2008. Renowned guitar player Eric Clapton has said that Lee is “the greatest guitarist in the world. The ultimate virtuoso. His skill is extraordinary, his ear is extraordinary, and he’s gifted on just about every level.”
