Anyone home … ? 

Lydia Chiu (they/them) is a Taiwanese-American fifth-year BAFA illustration and literary studies (fiction concentration) major from Virginia. They would say they enjoy telling character-driven stories about community, family, and the passage of time, but it’d be easier and more honest to say that everything they create is about grief.

Lydia’s piece, entitled “Too late to learn to miss you,” was inspired by the places to which we might never go back but will always think of as home. 

The theme for October 2025 was ‘Haunted.’
