Welcome back to “What are Students Listening to?”, a series from The New School Free Press about the hottest tunes listened to by New School students. In this edition, we asked the question: “What is your go-to karaoke song?”
William Hsu, a first-year communication design and psychology student at Parsons and Lang, recites the lyrics to Britney Spears’ “Toxic” as he enthusiastically performs his TikTok dance moves. Along with his dance partner, Themis Kung, a second-year Parsons student majoring in communication design.
Isaiah Browne, a first-year at Lang studying liberal arts’ go-to karaoke pick is “SAD GIRLZ LUV MONEY” by Amaarae and Moliy.
“Ra-ra-ah-ah-ah!” — Summer Safi, a second-year Lang student majoring in Journalism + Design belts out the high notes to Lady Gaga’s 2009 hit single, “Bad Romance”.
Although a driver’s license might not come in handy in New York City, “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo is Mia Pumo’s, a fourth-year studying theater at Lang, go-to karaoke song.
Mira Fowlkes, a first-year at Parsons studying fashion design, can’t wait to sing “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z at karaoke all night!
Erin Appenzeller, a third-year at Lang studying literary studies, is going to sing her heart out at karaoke night singing “Tequila” by The Champs
“Frontin’” by The Neptunes featuring Jay-Z is on second-year CoPA student Micaiah Corbitt’s karaoke selection.
Chloe Seehafer, a first-year at Parsons studying production design, is “hung up” on singing “Hung Up” by Madonna for karaoke.
Emilia Goued, a second-year sociology student at Lang, chose Journey’s iconic underdog anthem, “Don’t Stop Believin’’’ as her go-to karaoke song.
