Fashion on 5th is The New School Free Press’ weekly fashion column showcasing the student’s best and most unique looks of the week
Lian Chao, a Parsons student, wears a purple coat and purple pants both taken from her aunt’s closet with a cat tote bag. Her brown shoes are Clarks and the scarf is from Zara.
Sara Paul, a Eugene Lang student, wears a red Michael Kors coat, complementing her red lips, over a baby pink Forever 21 jacket. Her patterned black shirt and hat, both from H&M. Matching her jacket, she wears pink Tinkerbell-inspired shoes from Modcloth.
Keehyun Kim, a Parsons photography student, wears a silver women’s wear coat from Zara. His black pants are from Undercover. The shoes were originally black and then painted white after purchasing them from a shop in Korea. His shirt is Oliver Peoples and bag is JUUN.J.
Mary Filipiak, a Fashion Design student at Parsons, wears a fur lined Punto coat with a black shirt from Zara. Her embroidered jeans are from Topshop and her shoes are Nike. When removing her grey gloves, she discovered they were Club Monaco, “I got them for Christmas!” she said.
Lucie Roux, a Parsons student, rocks black with a jacket and pair of pants from Zara and a shirt from Mango. Her shoes are Adidas and the scarf is from & Other Stories.
Lillian Evans, a Parsons student, thrifted her deep blue coat from Beacon’s Closet. She layered a shirt from L Train Vintage over a men’s plaid shirt she bought from Target. Her black jeans are from Madewell and the shoes are Doc Martens. Her blue framed glasses are Ray Bans and her fluorescent pink watch is Colossal. The pin on her coat was purchased at a tiny bookstore in Chelsea. “I just really like blue,” Evans said regarding her perfectly matched outfit.
Amy Chen, a Parsons student, thrifted her fur jacket from No Relation on 1st Ave. Her shirt and shoes were purchased at a clothing shop in Shanghai. Her pink and red chiffon scarf was a hand-me-down from her mother.
Yanni Peña, a Parson’s student, wears an Off-White Adidas jacket over a white mesh Zara jacket paired with a thrifted Gap shirt. The pants and hat are both by Adidas. His all-white high-top sneakers are Puma & sunglasses are by LGR.
Ben Titera, a Lang student, wears a thrifted denim jacket from No Relation on Dekalb in Brooklyn. He purchased his shirt from a thrift shop in Chicago where the funds benefit AIDS research. His pants are Uniqlo and the shoes are DSW. Titera said that he’s had his orange beanie since he was a baby, while the scarf is from Banana Republic.
