Fall Career Expo

Tuesday, September 20th.

It’s that time of year again. Career Services is hosting their semi-annual Career Expo. This Tuesday is the first of a three-part expo, The Internship and Job Fair, to be followed by The Fashion Career Fair and The Design Fair, the following Tuesday. This week’s fair will feature employers seeking students and alumni with liberal arts and media backgrounds. You will have the opportunity to network with 30 employees in one day. Bring a lot of copies of your résumé!

Photoville

Wednesday, September 21st through Sunday, September 25th.

Photoville exhibits 400+ visual articles annually and is made up of 60+ exhibitions, 35 talks, four nighttime events in the outdoor garden, and numerous workshops. Photoville is a free to attend, annual photography festival held whose venue is made up of repurposed shipping containers to show art. The event is made up of all different types of photography and photographers from diverse industries.

90th Annual Feast of San Gennaro

Thursday, September 15th through, Sunday, September 25th, 11:30am to 11pm.

Presented annually since 1996 by Children of San Gennaro, a non profit community organization dedicated to keeping alive the spirit and tradition of the early Italian immigrants. The festival brings thousands of people from each corner of the globe to the streets of Little Italy to celebrate with good food, fun games, and unique shopping experiences. The 11-day event involves colorful parades, free musical entertainment, and religious processions.

Submerge Marine Science Festival

Saturday, September 24th at 11:00am.

This is a free day-long science extravaganza to raise awareness about our coastal waters and celebrate local marine science. The festival boasts interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities, and fun science stage events. Patrons can enjoy vessel tours, a kayaking adventure or watch live scuba diving while enjoying refreshments from the food trucks that will be on-site.

Horseback Riding at Kensington Stables

Saturday, September 24 at 11:30am.

Ride a horse through the only remaining native woodlands and freshwater lake in Brooklyn. Horseback riders will enjoy a scenic 3.5-mile trail through Prospect Park over varied terrain. The one hour of riding is open up to riders of all levels. New School students ride at a discounted price of $25 thanks to the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Students can meet at University Center at 10am or at Kensington Stables at 11am. Registration by Thursday at 4pm is required.

Atlantic Antic Festival & Flatbush Frolic Street Fair

Sunday, September 15th, 12pm to 6pm.

Presented by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation the Atlantic Antic Festival is the oldest and largest street festival in Brooklyn. It brings together people from all over New York City to enjoy festivities, shopping, music, food, and art. The festival is a living tribute to the different heritage that coexist in Brooklyn. The merchants in the festival are made up of trendy restaurants and boutiques from all around the country.
