USS Spring Semester Elections Results Announced

The Registrar’s Office released the spring semester elections results for eight open USS seats on Wednesday, one month into the spring semester. Despite delays, each school with the exception of The New School for Drama — which received no candidacy applications — now has at least one newly elected senator.

A total of 493 students voted, said USS Co-Chair Serengeti Timungwa, referring to a report compiled by administrators for the USS. This voter turnout of just under 5% of The New School’s student body is a decline from last election’s voter turnout of what the USS cited as nearly 10% of the student body.

The new Lang senators are Alyssa Achacoso and Nika Lomazzo; the new Parsons senators are Sunjam Kaur, Joseph Kushibab and Rui Ma; Mannes elected Victor Paz; Jazz elected Nico Galván; SPE’s new senators are Wanja Ochwada and Joey Atkins; NSSR elected Patrick Zeitinger.
