A traffic collision occurred early on the morning of February 12 on the corner of 14th street and 7th Avenue, only blocks away from several New School campuses.

“At about 5am, a truck was stolen, ran a light, and crashed into a city bus, which caused it to crash into the subway station,” a police officer on the scene told the Free Press. The officer also confirmed that this collision was fatal for the bus driver. According to ABC News, at least four others were injured as well.

The accident caused scaffolding to fall and left 7th Avenue between 13th and 15th Streets as well as 14th Street between 6th and 8th avenues blocked off.
