The first day of the outdoor Brooklyn Flea feels like the first day of spring. The sun is shining, but the wind is stronger than the rays. Every age group is outside soaking in some vitamin D while perusing for vintage clothes and vendor foods.

Every spring, the Brooklyn Flea moves from its indoor winter location at 1 Hanson place, the former Williamsburg Savings Bank, to an outdoor schoolyard in Fort Greene.

The move outdoors naturally draws more vendors and in turn, more people. The flea is mapped out like a maze. Collectable antique shops in the front of the market and food and specialty vendors further back, strategically placed as a rest stop for the frenzied shoppers.

The Brooklyn Flea is set up with vendors to satisfy every quirky desire. Every weekend (rain or shine), you can find “A Little of India,” some Australian scents, and even something from “Grandma’s Attic.”
The list of vendors at the Brooklyn Flea changes weekly. If a specific item of need is in mind, flea shoppers are encouraged to check the site’s vendor list for their favorite vendor the night before they attend.
Attempting to reach a wide range of costumers, the Brooklyn Flea has multiple locations and events packed into each 48 hour weekend. Every weekend is a new chance to explore local vendors at the Fort Greene and Williamsburg fleas, or eat to your heart’s content at the Williamsburg and DUMBO Smorgasburgs. Try out one a week, or go to all four, each is open from 10 a.m. to 6p.m.
